Updates on our crew/ Phase one of home repair

Since I am absolutely horrible about updating this, I have to pack a lot of information in this post in the anticipation that I may not update for a while to follow.  I have a break in between semesters, so I am hoping to do better.  I have my doubts until I finish in December.  Ayden just turned 6.  He wanted a Lego party at the new house.  He got it!  We were in one whole week prior to his birthday.  Keyton turned 2 the end of June.  She is very petite and a little stick of dynamite.  Very independent!  Where she gets it, I'm not real sure.  Hehehehe.

So we bought a new house and moved the first weekend of July.  I say a new house, because it is new to us.  We actually bought an antique project that we will probably be working on until the day God calls us home.  It's big, beautiful and old as dirt and we love it!  It was built in 1851, best we can find.  It still has many of the original parts and fixtures.  With moving into the "new" house, we have had to learn to share better and learn lots of patients. We have been, and still are, functioning out of one bathroom.  Yes, and just one toilet.  Challenging!!!

Construction starts tomorrow on some of the repair work.  A load bearing wall was removed some 40-50 years ago, so over the period of years, the floor has started to sag.  It sags as much as 4 inches in the very center. Tomorrow they start phase one of the repair.  I hope to continue to take pictures along and post them.  I eventually want to do another blog on just the before and afters of the home repairs that we do.

It is yet another adventure in this thing called life.  With my awesome husband and children with me, life can lead me wherever it wants.  This house will be one place that lots of memories will be made.

We shall call this:  Phase I
